On 3rd June, 2025
The Ramakrishna Mission Vidyamandira Belurmath Kolkata and its Alumni Association had organised competitions in various categories i.e Drawing, Story telling, Extempore Speech, Essay writing
for youths across the schools, colleges and universities of Darjeeling district.
The competition was held at Darjeeling Government College.
About 10 students from Southfield College had participated in the competition.
Miss Trisala Gurung,
Department of History,
Southfield College
won 1st place in the Essay writing competition.
She had participated in category C ( Colleges and Universities)
The topic was — Science and Technology for the Welfare of Humanity
Miss Trisala Gurung also stood 1st in the Extempore Speech competition
(Category C Colleges and Universities)
where she had to speak impromptu for 4 minutes.
The topic which she had received was — Unity in Diversity.
Southfield College is proud to have secured 1st place in both Essay and Extempore
competitions.
