This is for general information that the West Bengal Panchayat General Election 2023 is to be held on 08.07.2023 and for the purpose some colleges under the University of North Bengal have been occupied by the Election Commission from 03.07.2023 to 12.07.2023. In view of that the U.G. 6th Semester Examination 2023 (Under CBCS) scheduled to be held on from 05.07.2023 & 12.07.2023 will be held on from 14.07.2023 to 24.07.2023, 4th Semester Examination 2023 (Under CBCS) scheduled to be held on 03.07.2023 & 04.07.2023 will be held on 19.07.2023 & 21.07.2023 and the U.G. 2nd Semester Examination 2023 (Under CBCS) scheduled to be held on from 11.07.2023 to 21.07.2023 will be held on from 25.07.2023 to 04.08.2023.

Southfield College was founded as Loreto College, in Darjeeling in August, 1961 as a women’s college. At the request of the Government of West Bengal, the Irish Branch of the Institute of the Blessed Virgin Mary, the Darjeeling Loreto Educational Society agreed to take care of its management. However, due to the lack of personnel the Loreto nuns were compelled to hand over the college to the Government of West Bengal, hence to be run as Southfield College.
