Event Report: “The Flames of Freedom”
The History Club successfully organized a historical act on the Revolt of 1857, titled “The Flames of Freedom,” on May 16, 2025. The event was held at Damien Hall at 3 pm, attracting a significant audience of Principal Ma’am , teaching staff, non teaching staff and student’s
The event aimed to promote historical awareness and interest among students, and it achieved its objective through an engaging and informative performance. The participants’ efforts were commendable, and the event was a grand success.

Southfield College was founded as Loreto College, in Darjeeling in August, 1961 as a women’s college. At the request of the Government of West Bengal, the Irish Branch of the Institute of the Blessed Virgin Mary, the Darjeeling Loreto Educational Society agreed to take care of its management. However, due to the lack of personnel the Loreto nuns were compelled to hand over the college to the Government of West Bengal, hence to be run as Southfield College.
